Traveling Through the Dark Essay Summary: A man finds a gunned down deer at the side of the road while traveling through a jungle. He further becomes depressed to find the deer pregnant. As he has to move forward on his way, so he pushes the deer into the river. Paraphrase: I came across a deer on the side of Wilson River Road while I was passing through the shadowy jungle. Due to the shine of back light, I jumped out of car and found a mound of a deer that was killed recently. Â  She was almost dead as her body was hardened. While pulling her aside, I realized that she was pregnant. While touching her side with my fingers, I came to know the reason for her large abdomen. Her side was warm and her fetus was lying alive in her belly but never to take birth. I was reluctant to move on further on this rocky road. Car intended to move forward as it dimmed it parking lights and solid engine buzzed under the bonnet. I positioned myself by the beams of engine’s warm exhaust fan that was turning hot. I was able to take notice of the backwoods eavesdrop on my group. I tried to concentrate on this for all of my group members but only I was swinging over. Then I pressed on the deer on the brink and rammed it into the river.

Evolution of the Piano Essay -- Music Musical Instruments

Evolution of the Piano Dulcimer originally found in Iran shortly after the birth of Christ. The Dulcimer is the basic principles of the piano, hammers striking different strings tuned over a flat soundboard. Dulcimer players used two light sticks ending with broader blades, instead of the mechanical hammers. Clavichord built in around 1400, the clavichord had about ten strings and in earlier examples two notes or more was produced from that string or pair of strings by making two or more tangents contacts the same string or pair of strings at different points. The clavichord has a quiet tone, but the way it’s built allowa for some control of dynamics and even vibrato. The virginal uses the same plucking action as the harpsichord, but it is oblong rather than wing shaped and the keyboard is in the long side. In this regard, it resembles the clavichord in shape. The virginal has one string per note running parallel to the keyboard and its range is approximately four octaves. Harpsichord has the string which is plucked by a small plectrum, originally of quill. The variety of sound from these plucked instruments is achieved not primarily by finger pressure, but more subtly by phrasing and articulation. Variety of tonal color can be obtained, on a harpsichord by judicious choice of registration. Cristofori Pianoforte - The year 1709 is the one most sources give for the appearance of an instrument which can truly be called a "Pianoforte." The writer Scipione Maffei... Family and Wimpy Kid Essay

This book is amazing; it is called Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules and it is a funny diary that is written in a really good, motivating way. It is written by Jeff Kinney and is based on a wimpy little boy whose big brother is annoying him.Characters:The main characters are Greg and Rodrick. Greg is the wimpy kid writing the diary and Rodrick is his big brother. Rodrick is really mean to Greg and always blames things on him when he hasn’t done anything. Rodrick mistakenly thinks that he is an amazing drummer.Plot:Greg does some very stupid things and only Rodrick knows about them so Greg is relying on Rodrick not to tell anyone but, being a typical big brother, he does. They keep loads of secrets from their parents but bad things happen when they find out. Their mum has an idea that if they do chores she will pay them with board game money which they can trade in later for real money. Little does their mother know that Greg just buys more board game money. This book is written in fairly standard American English so they say things like â€Å"Mom† not Mum. They also say â€Å"Gramma† instead of grandma or grandmother. Although it is written in American English it did not affect the experience of reading it for me. It is written in the first person and some of the words do not follow the rules of Standard English spelling, e.g. â€Å"LAST† instead of last without capitals.Backround:Roderick Rules is the second book in a series. The first book is Diary of a Wimpy Kid and the third book is Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Last Straw. The series is an international best seller. My opinion on this book is that it’s light-hearted, funny, draws you in from the start and luckily there is another one waiting for you when you have finished. The cartoon illustrations complement the witty text and they really help to visualise the characters during their antics and adventures. I recommend this book to anyone between the ages of eight and twelve.I would award this book four out of a maximum of five stars

The student had created a fake Snapchat page that was used to expose the nudity of other students around the school. I assume the kids who had been posted felt embarrassment and also a bit of intimidation at the school after that. Don’t waste time! Our writers will create an original "Cyberbullying in School" essay for you Create order The person who started the page was arrested and charged with child pornography and most likely harassment. Just recently has cyber bullying became an underrated topic around the world. It has caused many teens and young adults’ real pain to lose their lives, friendships, and relationships. In extreme cases, some individuals have even been sent to jail for the actions and words they have used to harm others. The smallest things such as gossiping, spreading embarrassing pictures, cyber threats, and Catfishing/ impersonation are all called cyber bullying and can be avoided when there are consequences behind each of them. Gossiping and the spreading of embarrassing pictures through social media websites, such as Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram, Facebook, email, and text messages has been the main source of cyber bullying. Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram and Facebook are the top four social media websites which also contain the most cyberbullying incidents among teens. Posting and sending embarrassing pictures can ruin a person’s professional future. Being denied a job or an opportunity for a task because somebody wrongly surfaced an image can give a bad reputation to someone else. Posting any offensive picture without that person’s permission is illegal. This is called copyright infringement. Posting pictures and saying harsh words about someone can also lower someone’s self-esteem. Self- esteem is having confidence in one’s worth and abilities. Being embarrassed and having low self-esteem is not healthy for anyone and could possibly lead to harmful thoughts. Having these thoughts can lead to committing suicide, cutting wrist, aggressive drug use or even depression which can all be life threatening. â€Å"In 2010, a Rutgers University freshman student, Tyler Clementi jumped off the George Washington Bridge to his death after two classmates allegedly used a webcam to secretly watch him during a gay dorm-room encounter, and the two were charged with invasion of privacy (CQ Researcher).† In Massachusetts, high schooler Phoebe Prince also committed suicide after six of her classmates had bullied her. They are charged with the cause of her death. Secondly, the use of cyber threats is illegal, and you can be arrested and convicted of a misdemeanor. Cyber threats can also affect a person’s mental health. Sending cyber threats can force the victim to become severely paranoid because they feel they may be endangered. When a person is bullied and sent a threat it brings a great deal of stress to them. They tend to worry about their sa fety and also for others around them. According to the UN Chronicle, â€Å"Stress is the biggest factor affecting the mortality rate in modern society.† Lastly, Catfishing and impersonation have caused emotional trauma to those who are victims of it. They have shown their real and true love to someone who has been not even real or was someone they did not know. Most victims may have shared pictures with others who they thought was someone they loved. Catfishing can also cause trust issues for those who have experienced it. People may think that everyone is a liar or may be out to get them from his or her past experiences. Also, insecurity can be a factor that comes from this as well. Victims may think that are not good enough for someone or worth the time. In conclusion, gossip, embarrassing pictures, threats, and Catfishing are all elements of cyberbullying and can definitely be avoided. Many have argued that â€Å"legislating against online behavior is an infringement on civil liberties, such as freedom of speech (Issues and Controversies)† but when it comes to person self-care and safety there should be penalties. Cyberbull ying should not only be addressed in schools, but also at home and from the states. As teens and young adults begin to use social media and cell phones more and more often there need to be ways to help stop cyberbullying. â€Å"States should pass new anti-cyberbullying legislation so that prosecutors can effectively target cyberbullies, setting an example for other teenagers and preventing tragedies (Issues and Controversies).† Let us take actions now before it is too late.
